Kulynych/Cline Distinguished Professorship

Through the generous contributions of the Kulynych and Cline families, the Dr. Wiley F. Smith Department of Psychology has established the Kulynych/Cline Distinguished Professorship. The mission of this professorship is to foster relationships between nationally and internationally recognized scholars and teachers at other institutions and the faculty and students at Appalachian State University, thereby enriching the intellectual and professional environment of the Department.

The Dr. Wiley F. Smith Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites applications for a 1 to 3 year appointment at the rank of Professor beginning August 2018. The successful applicant is expected to have the appropriate terminal degree in Psychology or an allied field. The Kulynych/Cline Distinguished Professor is expected to engage in scholarly activity that promotes the visibility of Appalachian State University in the professional community. Responsibilities include contributing to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, developing a colloquium series featuring prominent scholars, teaching one course each semester related to his or her field of expertise, and collaborating with faculty in scholarly activities that support the mission of Appalachian State's Dr. Wiley F. Smith Department of Psychology.
