Richard P. McQuellon, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Hematology and Oncology. He directs the Psychosocial Oncology and Cancer Patient Support Programs at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center. His area of clinical and research focuses on quality of life, depression and anxiety in cancer patients. He is married to wife, Cyndee, a graduate of Western Carolina University and has two children, Brendan at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Meghan, at Florida State University. He was awarded the College of Arts and Sciences Alumnus of the Year for ASU in 2006.

Krista Konrad

Krista graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI with a psychology major, and a biology minor. She graduated with a MA in Health Psychology at ASU and completed her thesis on Feminine Gender Role Stress and Physiological Reactivity (under Dr. Martz). Her master's level internship was working with Dr. David Garner at his eating disorders clinic in Ohio. Her doctoral degree will be in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Behavioral Medicine, from Bowling Green State University. Her preliminary exam project was on Metabolic and Psychological Changes During Refeeding of Anorexia Nervosa.

Krista received a dissertation fellowship award and completed her dissertation on Metabolic and Psychological Predictors of Weight Regain Among Behavioral Weight Loss Participants.

Krista is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship at Duke Medical Center where she will complete rotations in a residential obesity program, weight loss surgery, and pain/biofeedback treatment. She will graduate in the summer of 2007 and hopes to find a job in which she can combine her love for clinical work, teaching, and research.

Regarding her experiences at ASU, Krista commented, "I loved ASU and would recommend it to anyone interested in Health Psychology. I feel as though the education I received there has given me an advantage compared to other students, and I felt as though I made the transition to a doctoral program very easily."

Megan Pinkston-Camp

Megan completed her undergraduate studies at Georgia Southern University and earned her MA in Health Psychology at ASU in 2000. She completed her thesis, "Psychological, Nutritional, and Expenditure of Energy Differences in College Females with Anorexia Nervosa and Comparable-Mass Controls" under the direction of Dr. Martz, and she completed practica at Ashe Memorial Hospital and Watauga Medical Center-Cardiac Rehab.

Megan is currently enrolled in the Clinical Health Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her practicum placement was at the UMKC Wellness Center, and her dissertation is entitled: Experiential Learning to Increase Empathy in Medical School Students towards Persons Living with HIV and AIDS. In 2004, Megan was married to another ASU alum—Congratulations!
