Dominic Ysidron '18 and Dr. Andrew Monroe presented their recent research on free will and morality at the 9th Annual International Conference on Reproducibility and Replicability in Psychology and Experimental Philosophy at University College London, UK.
Reflecting on the experience, Ysidron, a University Honors Student and 2018 graduate said “Presenting at the XPHI 2018 Conference with Dr. Monroe was incredibly beneficial in a multitude of ways. As I prepare to enter my doctoral program, I am becoming increasingly aware of the importance of being able to clearly explain research design, methodology, and other tenets of doing science. The opportunity to speak about research in front of other scientists is a helpful and preparatory experience.” “If I had to summarize the conference, it would come in the form of a quote from a keynote speaker: "there is a difference between trying to confirm a previously held belief and looking for truth." Overall, presenting internationally was a great experience and something that I will reference throughout my career.”
