Dr. Kurt Michael Presents ASC Center Outcomes in Student Mental Health

The ASC evaluation findings from 2017-18 at Ashe High School revealed higher than average success rates. 92% of the students who presented with clinically significant symptoms at intake were either recovered (72%) or improved (20%) by the end of treatment.  In addition, the Prevention of Escalating Adolescent Crisis Events (PEACE) protocol was implemented successfully among 49 students across 56 unique crisis events during 2017-18.  These results are attributable especially to program graduate, Whitney Van Sant, now the full time school mental health coordinator, intern Elizabeth Capps, practicum student Rebekah Smith, and supervisor Dr. JP Jameson. We are grateful for their commitment to the well being of children and families.
