Dr. Shawn Bergman and the Center for Analytic Research and Education (CARE) received additional funding to provide research and analytic consultation to the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) as a part of the U.S. Department of Education's First in the World Access to Success (A2S) program.
The goal of the A2S project is to develop a college match and fit tool, which will assist at-risk students in determining a list of institutions to which they are most likely to be accepted, enrolled by, and persist in following high school. More specifically, Delaware State University (DSU), a Minority-Serving Institution and Historically Black College and University, is engaged in an initiative to increase the number of applications, enrollment, and persistence in postsecondary education of at-risk and underrepresented students who are first-generation and/or from low-income families through a quasi-experimental study externally evaluated by the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP). The project A2S allows DSU to develop a college match and fit tool, which will assist at-risk students in determining a list of institutions to which they are most likely to be accepted, enrolled by, and persist in following high school. Dr. Shawn Bergman and CARE is continuing their three-year partnership with NCCEP and is providing research and analytic consultation in project's evaluation efforts.
